Before students complete and submit their Exam Request Form (found
in the Forms Package of their learning resources or online)
to Athabasca University, they must contact an Athabasca University
Learning Centre or their invigilator, to reserve a day and time
to write the exam. Students do not require permission to write an
exam; however, it is recommended that they discuss their preparedness
to write with their tutor or learning facilitator.
All invigilated exams for individualized-study courses are requested
through Examination Services, Office of the Registrar. Students
who are writing at one of the Learning Centres may contact the appropriate
centre.
Please ensure that your exam request allows sufficient time for
exam preparation and delivery. Students writing their exams in North
America must request their exam a minimum of 15 business days before
the date on which they wish to write. Invigilators living in North
America will receive the exam in the mail. For internationally invigilated
exams, additional time must be allowed for shipment.
Occasionally, circumstances arise that prevent a student from writing his or her exam on the requested date. Should this happen to you, refer to the section entitled "Unwritten Exams."
Exams are not shipped between Christmas Eve
and New Year's Day.
