13.1. Transfer
Credit Arrangements
Athabasca University has negotiated hundreds of collaboration and
articulation agreements with institutions and organizations in Alberta,
across Canada, and around the world. For an up-to-date list, see
below. For information and links, refer to Collaborations.
Through block transfer credit, many of these agreements provide
easy access to degree completion opportunities that build on your
previous educational achievements.

in an Athabasca University degree program, please refer to the

13.2. On-site
Courses
Additionally, hundreds of Athabasca University courses that lead
to Athabasca University degrees are offered on site at specified
collaborating institutions. In some cases, entire Athabasca University
degrees can be completed on site. For a complete list of upcoming
courses scheduled at collaborating institutions, please refer to
Athabasca University
Learning Services.
Here are a few such collaborations in Alberta:
13.2.1
Mount
Royal College
Athabasca University and Mount Royal College (Calgary) are collaborating
to provide a Bachelor of Arts (BA)
degree with majors in English, History, and Psychology, and a Bachelor
of Nursing (BN) degree on site at Mount Royal College. Courses to meet the degree requirements
can be taken on site at Mount Royal College or through a combination
of classroom seminars at the College and online and distance courses
through Athabasca University. (For the BN, clinical placements are
in the Calgary region.)
Athabasca University has an on site BN advisor at Mount Royal
College (Room Y348), and a BA advisor at the Calgary Learning
Centre.

13.2.2. Grande
Prairie Regional College
Athabasca University and Grande Prairie Regional College are
collaborating to provide on site at Grande Prairie Regional College
a Bachelor of Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, and Bachelor
of Science in Computing and Information Systems degrees. Courses
from other programs are also offered, based on demand. All courses
to meet the degree requirements can be taken on site at Grande
Prairie Regional College, or through a combination of classroom
seminars at the College and online and distance learning through
Athabasca University.

13.2.3 Lethbridge
Community College
Athabasca University and Lethbridge Community College are collaborating
to provide Bachelor of Administration and Bachelor of Professional
Arts - Criminal Justice and Human Services degrees on site at Lethbridge
Community College. Courses from other programs are also offered
based on demand. Courses to meet the degree requirements can be
taken on site at Lethbridge Community College or through a combination
of classroom seminars at the College and online and distance courses
through Athabasca University.
Athabasca University has an on-site advisor at Lethbridge Community
College, in room TE 1207.
13.2.4 Grant
MacEwan College
Athabasca University and Grant MacEwan College (Edmonton) are collaborating
to provide on site at Grant MacEwan College a Bachelor of Professional
Arts - Criminal Justice degree. Courses to meet the degree requirements
can be taken on site at Grant MacEwan College, or through a combination
of classroom seminars at the College and online and distance courses
through Athabasca University.
13.2.5 Blue Quills First
Nations College
Athabasca University and Blue Quills First Nations College (Blue
Quills First Nation, St. Paul) are collaborating to provide university
credit and degree completion opportunities in the community.
13.2.6 Yellowhead
Tribal College
Athabasca University and Yellowhead Tribal College (Enoch Cree
Nation, Edmonton) are collaborating to provide university transfer
courses in the community.
13.3. Accounting
Credentials
Athabasca University has established transfer arrangements with
the three major professional accounting bodies in Alberta: the
Institute of Chartered Accountants (Chartered Accountant, CA.
www.icaa.ab.ca/), the Society of Management Accountants (Certified
Management Accountant, CMA), and the Certified General Accountants
Association (Certified General
Accountant, CGA). To review current equivalencies and course

13.4. Current
Partnerships
Athabasca University is continually exploring new opportunities
for initiatives that benefit students. In most cases, graduates
with specified diplomas or certificates qualify for a block transfer
of credit toward a specified Athabasca University degree.
