At Athabasca University, you will set your own study schedule using learning resources provided by the University.
Each course is unique, prepared by a team of authors, editors, designers, and print and online production specialists. Most courses and programs are offered through a combination of print-based and online material, with many courses offered almost entirely online.
Full-time students may be actively registered in one to six courses at a time. To ensure that you do not overburden yourself, Athabasca University limits your course load to a maximum of six active courses. If you have a full-time job or are new to distance learning, we suggest you start with one course.
The course materials and delivery methods vary between courses, and are described more fully in the course syllabus.
If you are a new student, you must first be admitted to Athabasca University before registering in a course.
