8.7 Centre for Learning Accreditation

The Centre for Learning Accreditation offers you an opportunity to gain credit for non-formal learning and learning that has occurred through your workplace or labour training programs.

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition refers to several methods of evaluating learning that is related to Athabasca University degrees or certificates. Among these methods is Portfolio Assessment: you will assemble evidence in a file, binder, or dossier that will illustrate to assessors how your non-formal learning can count toward a credential. The portfolio will be assessed by a trained team knowledgeable in the fields of study in your program. Before you begin creating a portfolio, please contact the Centre or review the Web site.
