8.3 Access to Students with Disabilities

Athabasca University makes every attempt to accommodate students who have permanent or temporary disabilities whether the disability arose before or after admission to the University.

Students indicate on the Undergraduate General Application Form, whether they have special needs (a physical, medical, learning, or medical disability) that may affect their academic progress.

If you are a prospective student with a disability, contact the Office of the Registrar and a Verification of Limitation Form will be forwarded. If circumstances arise after your admission that would qualify you to receive special services, contact the Coordinator, Access to Students with Disabilities.

Students with disabilities who require their examinations in another format, will be advised and required to book their examinations 30 business days in advance. This allows the University additional time to prepare the examination. In rare circumstances these time limits may be extended for specific examinations.
