Invigilator Guidelines
Examinations should be written under the supervision of a professor, instructor, or an authorized invigilator. When you submit your request, you may propose an alternative invigilator.
To eliminate conflict-of-interest problems, relatives, friends, neighbours, co-workers (including immediate supervisors), persons living at the same address as the student, or other Athabasca University students, cannot invigilate examinations without the permission of the Coordinator, Examination Services, Office of the Registrar.
If neither option is available, please email Examination Services, Office of the Registrar. A staff member will help you determine a suitable location and an acceptable invigilator.

Invigilator Fees
Most invigilators request a fee to invigilate student examinations. You may also be required to pay the institution that is invigilating your examination. You are responsible for the expenses incurred for this service. Athabasca University does not charge a fee to invigilate examinations at any of its three Learning Centre locations in Athabasca, Edmonton, or Calgary, Alberta. Invigilation centers may also charge a fee if you cancel or reschedule your examination.
