11. Examination Invigilation Centres
Where are Exams Invigilated?
Individualized-study students living within 100 kilometres of an Athabasca University Examination Centre are required to write their exams at one of the centres listed. Individualized-study students are not required to use the centre closest to them but may use any network centre that meets their needs or schedule. Grouped-study students write their exam, which is coordinated by the grouped-study course instructor, at the same place, date and time.
If an accredited post-secondary institution isn't within reasonable proximity to
students, they may write at an educational institution such as a high school. Where none of these options are available, students may use an invigilator, public library, or phone Examination Services in the Office of the Registrar to determine a suitable location.
Students who are ready to write their exam submit the Exam Request Form, also found in the Forms Package of the course materials. The exam will be sent directly to the educational institution where the exam is being invigilated or to the invigilator's business address.
Most invigilators charge for exam invigilation and students are responsible for
the related costs.

Exam Request Process page for details.
