MC Application Procedure

Procedure

Students applying to the MC program, should follow these steps:

  1. Complete and submit both the Athabasca University Faculty of Graduate Studies application and the MC program application in electronic format. The applications include basic demographic information, a rationale for program application, educational and work background, professional development, and scholarly achievements. Application materials must be accessed and completed online through the GCAP website.
  2. Gather and submit the following materials in one complete package, following the procedures outlined on the GCAP website.
    • One official transcript* from each post-secondary institution attended.

      * Applicants submitting any official documents (e.g., transcripts) in a language other than English must provide an official translation of such documents. If the credential being submitted has been earned outside Canada or the US, documentation attesting to its equivalence to a Canadian baccalaureate degree is required. Such documentation can be obtained from

    • Three Letters of Recommendation*; one should be from someone who is familiar with the applicant's academic skills.

      * It is the applicant's responsibility to notify his or her referees, that, in accordance with the Province of Alberta's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the information contained in the letter of reference is not considered to be confidential and it may be viewed by the applicant upon request. Application Deadline

The GCAP program office must receive all application materials by March 1 for consideration for admission to the program starting the following September.
